The Weston Fury Girls U-17 Soccer Team went to Orlando Labor day weekend with one goal in mind..Qualify for the Disney College Soccer Showcase Event Dec 29- Jan 2. The team had numerous chances in their first game on Friday night, but had to settle for a 0-0 tie with Strictly Soccer. On Saturday they faced one of the top teams in the country Top Hat out of Atlanta. It was a close battle and both teams gave it their all. In the end the Fury prevailed with a 1-0 victory! Next up was FC America. With a victory they would advance to the semi-finals. On Sunday, the girls were very business-like and came away with a 6-0 victory. Now, the game they had to win to acheive their goal against one of the strongest teams from the Dallas area the DFW Tejanos. The game was played at 8am Monday and the field was very wet from the overnight dew. The ball played slower so the Fury had to be up to the task. When the referee blew his final whislte it was a 2-1 victory thus assuring the team a spot in the Disney College Soccer Showcase Shootout!
