Fury Compete in Champions Cup Again!!

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (March 18, 2008) – The US Club Soccer 2008 Champions Cup commences Thursday, March 20 at David Maus Toyota Seminole Soccer Complex in Sanford, Fla. outside of Orlando.  The four-day Champions Cup is a true club championship utilizing a unique format with clubs accumulating points for results in three age groups.  An invitation only event, separate boys and girls’ titles will be awarded on Sunday, March 23 with the following clubs competing to win the national club championship:

The Champions Cup format focuses on the importance of the entire club.  Boys’ clubs will contest the Champions Cup in U14, U16 and U18 age groups while the girls’ competition will consist of U13, U15 and U17/U18 age groups.  During the first three days of the Cup, teams in each age division will be divided into two three-team groups.  Each team will play against each of the three teams in the corresponding group.  Following pool play, placement matches pairing teams based upon their results will determine the eventual Cup winner in each age bracket.

While individual age group winners will be recognized, the Champions Cup champion will be the club with the most cumulative points from its participating teams in all three age groups.  Both a boys and a girls’ club champion will be crowned.
