Nelson Bonzi joined the WFSC program in the summer of 2007 after spending the last three years in South America, where he worked at the American School of Rio de Janeiro (EARJ), involved in the Physical Education and Athletic Department program.
He holds a BS degree in Physical Education and Sports from Brazil and a MS degree in the Exercise and Sports area from Iowa State University. Nelson is also the receipent of a professional coaching license from the Brazilian Soccer Federation, a NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma and a USSF National “D” license as well as being a USSF certified referee.
The level of experience Nelson brings to our Club includes playing at the college level, working at some of the premier soccer camp programs in the U.S., 10 years of involvement w / youth club soccer in USSF Region II programs and working at the professional level in Brazil.
While coaching at some of the premier club programs in the Midwest, Nelson won 12 IAYSA State Cup Championships, over 30 premier tournaments in USYSA Region II including the prestigious USYSA Region II " REGIONALS " and obtained significant results in major national tournaments such as USA Cup and Dallas Cup, among others.
