U16 Boys Premier won the Countryside Easter Tournament. They beat 2 Teams from Louisiana , IMG and Blackwatch --the number 2 ranked team in the State last year on their way to a 5-0-0 record. It is their second Tournament victory this year to go with a quarterfinals showing at the Sun Bowl, and a runner up showing at the Weston Invitational tournament in February.
Leading the way at Countryside was Diego Scheurich with 3 goals. Jaime Thomas scored 2 critical goals -the winner vs. Blackwatch and the first goal in the championship game vs Louisiana Thunder. Justin Diaz contributed with 2 goals and 5 assists in the 5 games. Defensively, the team gave up only 2 goals. The defense was led by stopper Axel Miranda and sweeper Richie DeBrigard, as well as defenders Michael Fernandez and Connor Burnside. Goalie Michael Chisolm was superb as usual. “This was the perfect tune up for state cup” said coach Leo Vega who was very impressed with the teams scoring ability in these 5 games.
