U13 Girls Premier win the Region III President's Cup
June 15, 2008
The Weston Fury U13 Girls traveled to Columbus, Georgia to represent their club and the state of Florida at the Region III President’s Cup. Their successful trip began with a 9-0 win over the VFC Lady Arsenal of Alabama. Next up for the Fury was the Lady Twins Blue of North Carolina in which the two teams battled to 1-1 draw. Day two of the tournament began with a 4-0 victory over Columbia, South Carolina which clinched the bracket for the Fury and set up a semifinal match up against the undefeated Dallas Sting. After enduring blistering heat and a second half rain storm, the Fury outlasted the Sting for a 1-0 victory and a birth in the championship game against the KFC Fire Blue of Knoxville, Tennessee. Following a scoreless first half, the Fury proved to be too much for the Fire defeating them 2-1 and clinching the only Regional Championship for Florida.

The Region III President’s Cup Championship completes an extremely successful post season for the Fury in which they posted a 11-1-1 record while their only loss came in PK’s. The Fury scored 38 goals, allowed only 5, and never gave up more than one goal in any game during Region A Cup, President’s Cup, and Region III President’s Cup.

The Lady Fury are Bailee Abrahamoff, Alex Bute, Taylor Kuruc, Taylor Moody, TK Nichols, Sara Perlman, Megan Pivacco, Nikki Sica, Kaitlyn Stolzenberg, Rachel Swadlow, Courtney Tabor, Devon Vasquez, Jawni Vidal, Kaitlyn Walters, and Aubri Williamson. They are led by Head Coach Brian Dooley and Assistant Coach Mike Sica.

2008 US Club Soccer Region C (FL) Championship
May 26, 2008

The Under-11 Premier won the US Club Regional Championship this past weekend competing in the Super Group. They competed against the top competition in the Southern Region of the and captured the title in a 2-1 victory with goals from Emilio Blanco and Santiago Rojas. Coach Eric Simpson said "This was a pure team effort with different players having raised their level in each of the 3 games". The U-11’s beat Valrico Dogs of War 2-1 with an exceptional 30-yard strike by Eithan Levy  and a last minute clincher by Eli Medder, and then went on to tie the South Carolina State Champs 2-2 with goals by Steven Ghitis and a late PK by Alex Moztarzadeh. Both Eli and Alex joined us from our neighbor club Pinecrest, and we welcome the opportunity to join with them again in the future. "What makes me the most proud though is that we were represented in the tournament by 3 teams at that age level". 1 in the Super Group and 2 others in the Premier Group, and we all played well. Coaches Henry Gomez, and Aldo Oyarzun deserve some credit for our victory as well, as they have each worked with players in our division on their skills and development. There are numerous others who dedicate their time and conduct private sessions with these boys and they need to be thanked as well as all the assistant coaches throughout our club. We all appreciate what you have done.

Disney Memorial Shoot Out - U10 Boys Swoosh with U9 Guests

The Weston U10 Boys Swoosh Team and Four (4) of the top U9 Premier Players, combined to play at the (U10 level) at the Memorial Day Tournament to end the season with one last Achievement.

Facing the taller and bigger opponents the Weston fury team played like this was their last World Cup  Tournament, they gave everything they had in every game showing the rest of the teams and spectators, the talent that Weston fury have in their younger teams.

The U9 and U10 players combined, had an extraordinary connection in everyway which made the communication and team work better than expected by the coach.

These are the players that won the championship and made the tournament more exciting for all spectators:

 U9   Players

Max Romeo, Federico Aquique, William Fierro, Nicolas Caicedo.

U10 Players:

Santiago Ballesteros, Cristopher Fourcand, Carlos Bonilla,

Nicolas Jacobsen, Sebastian Garcia herreros, Simon Santurian.

Weston Fury U-12 Girls Premier win U-13 Championship at Palm Bay Spring Challenge
May 3-4, 2008

The U12 Girls Premier team travelled to the Palm Bay Spring Challenge this past weekend. The team played up in the U13 Division to get more experience playing 11 a-side.

The girls did a great job and won their 3 group games with comfortable victories against teams from Jacksonville, Space Coast & Indiatlantic.

Sunday’s finals saw the girls play the u13 Vero Vipers team. In a very physical game the Fury younger girls held their own and persevered by playing a more skillful, passing game. This paid off with a goal in the second half from Angie Perez which won the game.

Winning the tournament was a great achievement and is excellent preparation for the girls next challenge at the Memorial Day Disney Shootout.

Coach Pat Johnston said in an email to parents " As for the final, it certainly was not simple or pretty, but the way we won has some significant positives that should be pointed out.  The girls won that game because of the steel in their spines and the courage in their hearts.  These are things I cannot teach and this game was not for the timid. Our opponent was bigger, faster and certainly rougher than anyone we have come up against.  The girls could have simply "hid" on the field and avoided the rough stuff, but they all refused to disappoint their teammates on this day."
Weston Fury U-13 Boys Nike - North Collier Spring Classic Champions
May 3-4, 2008
The Weston Fury U-13 Boys Nike team played at the Naples tournament showing their great skills and showing spectators how good this team is, and how good Weston Fury teams are.

Their first game, the U-13 boys played Brandon but by their lack of commitment Weston won with a score of (4-0). By the afternoon game the U-13 boys were ready to show the North Port team that Weston was here to take everything home by showing their skills and team work and beating North Port (5-0).Finishing their first day of games with great scores, Weston came back on Sunday prepared to face the Naples team, the home team playing at home, which is always a plus when playing tournaments, but Weston Fury U-13 Boys Nike was ready for any opponents, who came their way.Knowing that Naples also won their first 2 games, and being in the same bracket as Weston Fury, the winner of this game (Weston versus Naples )was the team who was going to the finals, so Weston decided to play their best game so far and that’s what they did, showing Naples who was the best and Weston came out with a victory of (5-0).By the final game, Weston had very high confidence and The Bonita Storm team gave Weston a good fight but at the end Weston accomplished their ultimate goal and won (2-0).

Congratulations for a great tournament , GO FURY!!
